Tonic Studios Craft Kit – Worth It?

I’ve been subscribing to the Tonic Studios Craft Kit since June 2020 (#33). It’s been nearly a year, and I’m still a subscriber! Since starting my subscription, I’ve only skipped one box and that’s next month’s kit (#43). That surprised even me! I fully expected to skip maybe 2-3 boxes a year, but there’s just so much to love in each box, it’s hard to skip any of them.… Read the rest

F.L.I.P. Crafter’s Companion Craft Box #16 – Statement Word Edge’ables

This craft box was the first set of word edge’able dies I got from Crafter’s Companion. I love the look & effect these offer. It’s a great way to make the sentiment really special. Since using this box, I’ve tried the F.L.I.P. of Crafter’s Companion Box Kit #27 Modern Word Edge’ables as well, which I really loved.

Swatch Book Tutorial

In my Rose Quartz Swatchbook Share video, you saw the little mini swatchbook I created using the Tonic Studios Legacy Keepsake Wallet die set.

In these two videos, I’ll be showing you how to put these cute little albums together. There are two binding methods I use — one for my designer paper (which is more of a keepsake) and one for my solid cardstocks (which is more functional for coordinating papers).

Swatch Book Share – DCWV Rose Quartz

I’ve started to swatch all the papers in my stash — yep, ALL of them!!

I recently picked up the Tonic Studios Legacy Keeper Wallet Die set. It’s an older die set, so I don’t know where you can purchase it nowadays. I bought mine on Amazon.com not too long ago, but it looks like it’s unavailable now.… Read the rest

Motion Crafts – Animated Tag

This Motion Crafts Animated Tag kit is really fantastic! It’s useful well beyond the animated image feature. I got it directly from the Motion Crafts website, but I don’t know if it’s still available for sale.

The kit comes with everything you need to create fun, interactive, animated tags. There are a lot of things I love about it:

  • This stamp & die set can be used for regular tags as well.

Merry Christmas to Me! I’ve Been Shopping Up a Storm…

I’ve been traveling visiting family since October and I’ll be honest, I’ve been doing a LOT of crafty shopping online. There were some great sales from Black Friday to Cyber Monday to end-of-year warehouse clearances, etc. I’m waiting for Tonic’s Jan 1 sale (they’ll be opening their vault) and then I’m going to give the credit card a well-deserved break.… Read the rest

Custom Word-Edged Easel Cards

Turn your word or alphabet dies into fun custom-edged easel cards. While you can buy word edge dies, give the alphabet or word dies in your stash some new life by using them as edgers.

Card Making

Tips & Tricks

  • When you line up your top cutting plate, be sure to look at where the cutting edge is and make sure you leave some of the bottom edge uncovered (so it doesn’t get cut)
  • You can also put your die cutting-edge up on your paper and draw two reference lines — one at the bottom of the die (so you know where to line up your dies) and one where the bottom cutting edge (so you know how to line up your top cutting plate to avoid cutting the bottom edge)
  • It’s best if you can leave at least 2-3 spots across your die still attached at the bottom to give it extra stability.

FLIP – Crafter’s Companion Box Kit #14 – Stencils

I don’t think I’ve ever used stencils as extensively as I did during this craft session. 🙂 It really did remind me to pull out my stencils more often. Stencils are great for making gorgeous backgrounds. These backgrounds can also stand centerstage with just simple sentiments to finish them off.

Tips & Tricks

  • When you clean your stencils, if you use a wet wipe you can wipe the stencil onto a fresh piece of cardstock to get a second background for free.
