Hi everyone! I’ve got a Clean and Simple card for those of us who can’t help but to keep adding more! I’ve added a lot of small details to this card but still left a lot of white space for that class, clean and simple look. If you find it hard to hold back all the bells and whistle but you love the look of clean & simple, maybe give this card a try!

Let’s Make This
Step 1. Die Cut Your Elements
- DCS Scottish Highlands – Leaves
- DCS Mantis Green – leaves
- PopTone Sour Apple – leaves
- PopTone Black Licorice – frame
- Cougar White – card base

Step 2. Adhere the Frame
I used A2 rectangle nesting dies to cut a thin black frame to use as a border for my card today. One simple way to add interest to a card is to add dimension. Instead of gluing this down flat, I added some low profile foam behind the frame and that gives it some lift.
Step 3. Create a “Nest” of Embroidery Floss
I like using a very thin embroidery floss like the DMC Metallic Floss. Because it’s so thin, to adhere it to my card, I use a sticky dot that I roll so it’s just big enough to tack down the floss as I create a little nest. This will serve as an interesting background to add my leaves.
Step 4. Add the Leaves
To keep this nice and simple, I went with 3 leaves cut in 3 different shades of green. Odd numbers seem to be most pleasing to the eyes, so my suggestion is to use either just one single (large) leaf or add groups of odd numbers. Three feels like the right number to me, so that’s what I went with.
Step 5. Stamp Your Sentiment & Embellish!
At the point, it’s a little late in our cardmaking, so a stamp positioning tool is handy. In case you don’t get the perfect impression the first time, you can always stamp again. I also added a pink butterfly for just a little pop of color!
To add some more interest, I “sprinkled” enamel dots to add some bold pops of black. This adds some eye-catching spots without taking away from our pink butterfly.
