Make Your Own Emoji!

I’m a little bit obsessed with making Emoji Face cards! What I love is that you can mix and match the pieces to make your own faces. This is a great scrap buster too! If you have lots of small pieces of scraps you can get your emoji face elements. I always have a lot of black scrap cardstock. Additionally, you can go wild and make some fun differently colored emojis! That’s the beauty of making our own cards, we can take all the creative license we want!

Let’s Make This Card

Step 1. Die cut your cardstock

💡TIP: If you have adhesive sheets, you can apply your adhesive sheet to your cardstock and then die cut to create stickers out of these pieces!

Step 2. Ink Blend

For the Emoji face, I want a bit more dimension, so I ink-blended the circle that was cut from Cougar White Smooth Cardstock. I put just a touch of the Summertime (orange) ink around the edges.

Step 3. Adhere Your Emoji Face to the Circle Card

The die will put in a score line for the Circle Card base. You’ll want to fold and burnish on that score line. Then adhere the circle you just ink-blended to the front of your card.

Step 4. Make a Face!

I cut out several extra eyes, mouths, etc. so I could play around and mix and match to create my own Emoji face! When you’re ready, just glue the pieces down. If you used the tip from above, it’ll be really easy to just peel and stick!

Step 5. Stamp a Sentiment

I stamped a sentiment on the inside of the card. Because I used 3D Glue Gel on the front and it wasn’t set yet, I used the Stampwheel 2.0 and removed one of the sides to allow the front of the card to hang off that edge. That way when I stamp, I won’t squish the front of my card.

Step 6. OPTIONAL – Diamond Glaze the Eyeglasses

Finally, you can add some Diamond Glaze (Glossy Accents or any clear medium) into the eyeglass frames to create a shiny/glossy look. But you can use also use solid color cardstock, colored vellum, acetate, etc. behind the eyeglass frames. The sky’s the limit!
