Having a nice work surface is also key. Besides a nice sturdy table, you’ll want something to protect your table from cuts, inks, etc. There are a lot of different surfaces I use to protect my table and I just layer one on top of the next as I need. I have a second self-healing mat. This one is a little smaller but still large enough to spread out. I sometimes bring this down to my kitchen table or coffee table when I want a change of scenery from my craft room.
