Description
I use foam adhesive to add dimension and create shaker cards. When I sat down to do the math to compare the cost of adhesives, Scotch foam tape is actually the most expensive adhesive I use. That’s not surprising since it’s more than just the glue – you’ve got foam sandwiched between two strips of glue. I do have a more affordable brand of foam tape that I like a lot.
However, I’m experimenting with a cost-saving alternative because I like to be generous with my foam. I also like to adhere foam to full (or nearly full) panels. I like the solution I’ve come up with so far, so I’ll probably post it soon along with a video. It’s nothing mind-boggling… spoiler alert – it’s basically just foam sheets with double-sided tape on both sides. But I did source some pretty affordable foam and double-sided adhesive (without having to buy in major bulk). My DIY foam adhesive can essentially be a full 8 x 11 sheet and is still more affordable than both the Scotch and the generic brand.
