#CardsForUkraine

There’s a lot going on in the world right now. Among the crafting community, there’s an initiative to show our support for Ukraine by creating cards featuring Blue and Yellow (representing the flag of Ukraine) and/or sunflowers (the national flower of Ukraine). There’s a card auction being held to raise money for nonprofit organizations that are lending support to the people of Ukraine. You can also show your support by just sharing your makes with the hashtag – #CardsForUkraine. It helps build awareness, show our support for the people of Ukraine, and sends positive energy and thoughts to those affected by this war.

Free Digital Stamps

Please don’t feel like you need to buy anything in particular to craft with in order to show your support. If you don’t have any craft supplies, many wonderful craft companies are offering free digital images. Here’s a list of what I found:

These aren’t the only ones available. Just the ones I’ve found.

If you’ve never used a digi stamp, feel free to check out this previous blog post. You really only need a printer, paper, and something to color with – pencils, crayons, paint, etc. Use what you have!

My Card For Ukraine

I combined the Together and the Hope Peace Courage digital stamps from TGF. I actually created two different variations and created four card front panels that can be printed on a single 8.5″ x 11″ sheet of cardstock / paper. This gives me the option to use it as a full panel, but I can still cut around the image if I want to use it as an element on top of a separate background. For the card above, I actually took a heart die and die cut the image and adhered it onto a watercolor background representing the flag of Ukraine.

See Me Make This

In this video, I show how I use Photoshop to combine the two digital stamps to create my printable panel. I used color pencils to color the image and watercolor markers to create the background.
