When I started the Let’s Talk Design Teams series, I knew I wanted to do a 3-part series. I figured lining up guests would be easy for Part 1 (my own creative team with zero DT experience) and Part 2 (designers currently on DT’s). But I was nervous about whether DT owners would be willing to livestream with me to talk on this topic. I’m so excited I can actually offer a Part 3 to my series thanks to the wonderful DT owners / company owners willing to have this discussion with me.

Since 2020, TLC Designs has provided consumers with a wide variety of crafting products designed with the Joy that comes with paper crafting. We introduced the brand to the market with the Double Dial Die. Still a fan favorite!
Each year our DT needs and expectations have changed. The first team consisted of 11 or 12 full time designers providing 3 or 4 projects per month requiring social media sharing and blogging on the TLCDesigns blog. However, in 2021, our needs adjusted with the times. Social Networking grew in different directions, so keeping with trends, we added Guest Designers with high portfolio’s of followers and a YouTube specific design team. Our full time DT group went to 5 or 6 members at that time. There were many adjustments to the DT needs in 2022 as well. I/G was growing in popularity so we needed an I/G specific team, the YouTube subscriptions were falling off but shorts were growing so our DT needed to be comfortable with creating stories and short clips so the product would be circulated properly.
Our teams have always been made up of a wide range of talents from CAS to super embellished so the skills had wide range of interest but the need for up to date skills remained the most important aspect of searching for DT.
