Below are the quick & easy steps for how to create a lovely easel card with a word edge to it. You can use word or alphabet dies you may already have in your stash! There’s a video tutorial if you scroll down as well as some alternatives to what I show in the instructions below.… Read the rest

Create a Flip Card Using Any Shape Die
I’m a fan of the Sizzix Flip-It dies and I have several that I love to use. They are definitely an easy way to make an impressive card. However, I found myself wanting to make a Flip Card using a heart as the focal image. I don’t know if Sizzix has one, but I couldn’t wait to shop for a die.… Read the rest
Mixed Media Cards
The other day, I sat down to just play with some of my media supplies, and I thought it would be fun to create some cards.
For most of the cards I did some variation of inking a background panel and then used some modeling paste through a stencil over the background.… Read the rest
20+ Cards with Spellbinders – Aug 2019 Kit – Hang With Me
I dived into this kit and I love it! In my earlier blog post with the comparison table of monthly card kits, I mentioned I was going to buy some kits and try them before subscribing. That’s just what I’ve done and now I have a LOT of card kits. 🙂 Most — maybe all — of them were purchased at huge discounts when they’ve gone on sale.… Read the rest
Father’s Day Cards
Father’s Day is coming up and I’m happy to say that I’m on top of it this year! My video below is a showcase and not a full make. I only needed to make 3 cards, so I didn’t do a FLIP but rather just went wherever inspiration took me. 🙂 I did personalize these cards for the fathers in my life, so they may not be your standard father’s day cards, but that’s the benefit of handcrafting cards — being able to customize and personalize the card to the recipient.… Read the rest
Sizzix Mini Album Tutorial
I have five nieces and four of them have birthdays the next couple months, so for presents this year I’m making them mini albums! My hope is they’ll enjoy filling the album with photos and every birthday I’ll give them a new album to commemorate that age.
I have two videos to share – one is a showcase walkthrough of one of the albums.… Read the rest
FLIP: Mother’s Day
Mother’s day is coming and this year I even got a head start! Good thing too because I had a few “oopsies” and had to make 2 cards multiple times to get the look I wanted.
Here’s my FLIP tutorial video showing how I made all my cards. It’s super sped up so is a short video even though it shows the entire process for all 5 cards.… Read the rest
DIY Foam Adhesive Tape
I love using foam adhesive tape to add dimension to my cards. If you don’t add too many layers of foam, they can go through USPS without extra postage. Before creating my own, I used it rather sparingly because the brand name tape can be expensive — at least compared to other adhesives.… Read the rest
Exploration: Rose Gold Pattern Paper Using Card Layout
In my research on what monthly subscription card kit to invest in (post 1 and post 2), I made my own card kit using a 12 x 12 pattern paper pad I already have. The exercise was mainly to learn whether I would enjoy using pattern paper since I haven’t really used it much in my card making.… Read the rest
Exploration: Rose Gold Pattern Paper
In my last post, I compared the card kits “on paper” to see how they stack up against each other. It’s hard to make a decision just on the “specs” of the kit. They all look so beautiful and quite frankly, I’d love to sign up for them all. However, card kit shopping isn’t like buying a laptop.… Read the rest
