Motion Crafts – Small Envelope

I know these have been around for a while, but I’ve only just discovered Motion Crafts. If you aren’t familiar with these, they allow you to create interactive cards that animate when you pull a special grid across the stamp.

This particular die set is actually perfect for gift cards, and it’s great in general even if you don’t use it with the animated stamp. This tutorial just covers the basics of the animation stamp concept and construction for this die set.

Motion Crafts seems to also go by the name of Uchi’s Design, so if you’re looking for these products, you might want to try both names. I’ve found them sold on HSN and directly on the Motion Crafts website. I also occasionally see them sold on Amazon too. You’ll definitely want to check prices because they can vary quite a bit.

Tips & Tricks

  • Make sure the stamp lines up with the animation grid lines. The image will be more crisp and clear.
  • If you want to use the small card for gift cards, I recommend placing the gift card and animation card inside the holder before you tape the tabs down. This ensures your gift card will fit.
  • You can also use removable tape to adhere the gift card to the tab so they both pull out at the same time.
  • There’s lots of ways to expand the use of these animated stamps, which I’ll explore in future videos. You can cut your own animation grids — you can cut your own animation grids out of colored cardstock. That allows you to stamp using different colors and you don’t have to continue to buy the Motion Crafts animation grids. Also, you can convert some of your stamps into animated stamps.
